We are excited to start this project to create a free football academy to support young Zambians through their football journeys. Through this blog, we will share updates on the academy and the children as we progress.

Fundraising

Being at the very beginning of the project, we are focussing on fundraising. Due to being a 100% donor funded project, its essential we are able to raise enough money to keep the academy going for the first few years while we find ongoing funding. We aim to do this primarily through our GoFundMe page.

Our goals

We have broken up the project into three main phases. Our first goal is to get the basics of the academy set up. This includes buying balls, cones, bibs, kit, football boots, renting a pitch and employing coaching staff. Our second goal is to expand our reach. We hope that in phase two we can give more children the opportunity to join the academy, and provide those who live far away with transport. Our final goal is to create our own football pitch. Due to renting a pitch being one of the highest ongoing costs, we aim to buy a piece of land where we can create our own football pitch and have more control over the facility.
