Dedicating each month to a new cause

About

What is the initiative?

Lusaka Eagles Football Academy is dedicated to supporting the wider community. That's why we are devoting each month to a new cause, using weekly friendly football matches with local teams to deliver educational talks, workshops, donate products and bring teams together through new experiences. Each month's cause is driven by what the children are interested in and want to learn/do next.

Why do this?

This initiative truly embodies the academy's goal to extend our impact beyond just football.

What to expect

Each month will be totally unique, tailored specifically to that month's cause. One month may be centred around women's health, and another may focus on the power of determinism. We are excited to allow the initiative grow and evolve over time.

Sponsor a month

When you sponsor a month, you're not just supporting a cause—your sponsorship covers the costs of renting pitches, providing clean water for the children, and ensuring that every child gets a snack after the games.

This month's cause: First Aid

The Lusaka Eagles team completed a comprehensive first aid training last week. We covered a wide range of emergency response skills including CPR, choking, drowning, wound dressing, burns, bleeding, bone fractures, allergic reactions, strokes, heart attacks, concussions, and bites from snakes, scorpions, and spiders. Key areas relating to football such as dehydration, concussions, wound dressing, bone breaks, bleeding, CPR, and choking were particularly emphasised.

It's crucial for our head coach, Solomon, and the team to be equipped with this knowledge, especially when working with children and young athletes. Above all else, ensuring everyone’s safety and well-being is our top priority!
